Who we are

LAD is a firm of advocates and solicitors on the Roll of the High Court of Malaya. In this notice, “we” and “us” mean the firm; “you” means anyone who uses this website or submits the enquiry form.

The data user for the purposes of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 is [FULL REGISTERED FIRM NAME].

What we collect

Only what you type in, and a small amount of technical information that any website receives.

When you use the calculator

Nothing leaves your browser. Purchase price, dates and answers stay on the page and are never sent to us unless you go on to submit the enquiry form.

When you submit the enquiry form

Documents of this kind often contain further personal data, including identification numbers, addresses and financial details. Attach them only if you are content for us to hold them.

Automatically

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.

Why we collect it

We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.

Consent

We process this data on the consent you give by ticking the box on the enquiry form. You may withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us at the address below. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and we may still need to retain records where the law or our professional obligations require it.

Where it is stored, and who can see it

Enquiries are stored in Google Sheets and any attached documents in Google Drive, on accounts controlled by the firm. Google acts as our data processor and the data may be held on servers outside Malaysia.

Access is limited to the lawyers and staff of the firm who need it to deal with your enquiry. We disclose personal data outside the firm only where you ask us to, where it is necessary to act on your instructions, or where we are required to by law, a court, or the Malaysian Bar.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become matters are kept for [RETENTION PERIOD] and then deleted. Where you instruct us, your file is retained in accordance with our professional obligations and file-retention policy.

Your rights

Under the Act you may ask us to:

Write to info@rubix.com.my. We may need to verify your identity first, and a prescribed fee may apply to a data access request. We will respond within the period the Act allows.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and the enquiry form transmits over an encrypted connection. Access to the enquiry records is protected by the firm’s Google account controls. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, and you send documents at your own risk.

Children

This site is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this notice. The version and date at the top will change when we do.
